Mica Tape - calcined muscovite mica tapes
This product is a glue bonded mica tape made of mica paper as the substrate, polyimide film on one side, or polyimide film and non-alkali fiberglass fabric on two sides as reinforcing material. Suitable for coil insulation of inverter motor, traction motor, wind power generation and other types of motors.
Product Types:
As per the different reinforcing materials, the calcined muscovite mica tapes can be divided into following types:
Single-sided fiberglass calcined mica tape: G-1618-MC-GS
Double-sided fiberglass calcined mica tape: G-1618-MC-GD
Single-sided fiberglass calcined mica film tape: G-1618-MC-FS

Excellent insulating property at high temperature. For G-1618-P phlogopite mica tape at temperatures 750~950¡æ and voltage 600~1000V, and for G-1618-S synthetic mica tape and G-1618-MC calcined muscovite tape at temperature 950~1050¡æ and voltage 600~1000V, the breakdown does not occur within 90 minutes.
Good environmental protection performance. The products do not contain asbestos and do not produce toxic gases at high temperature.
Good acid and alkali resistance, and corona and radiation resistance. The products are dry, not adhesive, have good bending ability and flexibility, and have high tensile strength at high speed winding and wrapping of wires and cables.

Oil platforms, high buildings, power plants, industrial factory buildings, tunnels, computer centers, aviation and aerospace center, telecommunication centers, ships, military facilities, etc..
Packaging
One pack is usually at 50kg, sealed with plastic film and packed in carton. The fumigation-free pallet shall be used when exporting. Each pallet contains <1000KG, or protected by metal drum.
Tips On ApplicationWhen using fire-resistant mica tape, the winding and wrapping processes are most critical. The technicians should select mica tape of appropriate width based on the wire sizes, winding tension, angles and wrapping speed, avoid broken tape or missed space, to ensure the surface of the insulated conductors after wrapping is smooth, flat and no mica falling off.
When winding small cross section wires, due to small coiling radius, the mica falls off easily. The width of the mica tape is small and the tensile strength is small, so the coiling tension and speed shall be uniform to prevent tape broking and mica powder falling off.
Mica tape wrapping layers and lapping rate are different when the material properties, specifications and types of the cables are different, and shall be differentiated by the cable designers based on the result of fire resistance tests. According to IEC's standard on fire-resistant cable testing, we recommend wrapping layers are 2 and the overlapping ratio is no less than 50%, i.e. the wire is wrapped by 4 layers of mica tapes.
